Under the microscope – our perspective

12Image

‘After inspiration from David, who recently used his iPad at home to illustrate what he had seen under the microscope last week, today the children used the Brushes app to do the same thing. Check out http://missvanloon.weebly.com and look under our final Unit of Inquiry ‘Sharing the Planet’, to see what they produced!!’

Minimal instruction was required as students easily created drawings from memory of a recent learning engagement of magnified insects.

The notion of a community of learners became more apparent as I was taught how to replay the whole drawing process in Brushes – a handy feature of the app. These serendipitous moments take these engagements to another level of learning.

They also made a video for Mr Mark to thank him for all the great tech work he has done with the class this year, as he will be leaving BMS to teach in Switzerland next year. Check out the link here to see for yourself all the great fun they have had!!
